Petro-Lub

An effective lubricity improver for use in distillate fuels

  • Petro-Lub is an effective lubricity improver for use in low sulfur and ultra-low sulfur middle distillate fuels.
  • This product features our non acidic, fully synthetic lubricity improver.
  • Requires a low inventory on board. At a treat rate of 1 :8000. Only a few 5 gal canisters are needed.
  • Completely compatible and soluble with other fuel soluble additives such as Cataphore.

Performance Specialties

Petro-Lub contains 2.8 wt.% static dissipater additive, Stadis ® 425. Per 40CFR80.614, the sulfur content of the Petro-Lub lubricity additive in Petro-Lub does not exceed 15 ppm.* Stadis ® 425, at the EPA maximum treat rate of 11.4 mg/L, will contribute 0.40 ppm of sulfur (assuming a fuel density of 0.85.)* This diesel fuel additive contains a static dissipater additive having a sulfur content of greater than 15 ppm. The overall maximum sulfur concentration of Petro-Lub is 855 ppm. The maximum recommended concentration for use of the combined additive in diesel fuel is 0.04233 volume%. The contribution to the sulfur level of the fuel that would result if Petro-Lub is used at the maximum recommended concentration is 0.4 ppm.
Application
Petro-Lub lubricity improver offers the following benefits:
  • Non-acidic, fully synthetic lubricity improver chemistry
  • Reduces the accumulation of electrostatic charges generated during mixing, transfer, and shipment of distillate fuels
  • Reduces pump and injector wear
  • Passes all lubricant interaction tests
  • Non-metallic
  • Phosphorous free
  • Ashless
  • Excellent low temperature additive handling
Addition
Petro-Lub may be continuously or batch blended into diesel fuel as a concentrate or as a stock solution. Proper blending and handling procedures must be followed. Verify that the additive is completely dissolved into the fuel.
Material Compatibility
Petro-Lub is compatible with the following materials of construction: mild steel, 304 stainless steel, 316 stainless steel, aluminum, Teflon, and Viton-A. Do not use with Hypalon, polyethylene, propylene, neoprene, Buna-N, or natural rubber. Copper, brass, or bronze (yellow metals) should not be used with neat additive.
Recommended treat rate
